it's been over a year since i last updated this, and alots happened.
currently i'm living in portland, and am working at a juvenile detention center, as a correctional officer. it's crazy making close to 32k a year with full benefits and a retirement plan. i never thought in a million years that i would be a correctional officer but i am happy and am hoping to stay here for some time.
lifting is still a huge part of my life, probably more now then ever. i'm weighing 235 lbs currently and pushing some really heavy weight. i never thought back in june of 2002 when i graduated high school at 140-145lbs that i would one day be going for the title of mr. maine. i was going to be doing that in the spring of 2006 but the mr. maine competition got cancelled and i'm forced to wait another year. i can only imagine how big i'll get, hopefully some where in the range of 250-265 lbs.
life is almost exactly what i want right now. i'm happy with the material part of my life, having a job and money and achieving the goals i've set forth. but im lonely. i miss my friends. i have a cell phone that never rings. not even random drunk girls call anymore. it's weird. i spend so much time at work and the gym i feel like i've disappeared to everyone, like i've been forgotten.
i'm glad that i'm happy. it took a long time, but i'm finally here.

its been a while and i dont really miss writting in this, at all...
lifting is going well, pretty much the only thing i've got goin for me right now. everything else is falling to shit. the bills are piling up and we've run out of oil in our apartment, its so fucking cold in here, 56 degrees, it sucks... good thing i've still got my gym membership. school blows. i'm falling behind cause my math teacher is a fuckin nazi. the other day we had a test, the average scoring range was a 25 to a 65...i think theres something wrong with that. how can the class average be 25-65 out of 100 possible points. either we're all dumb as shit or she has no idea what shes doing.
i'm starting a new powerlifting routine next week. that should be alot of fun. its estimated that when i'm done with this routine, my max bench should be between 315 and 345lbs depending on if i do everything exactly how its supposed to be done. both my squat and deadlift should go up about 75-100lbs each, that would put me over 500 in both those lifts. i'm pretty excited for that. thats alot of weight to be moving. my goal is to have a 500lb bench, 750lb deadlift and 700lb squat.

"i'm not a lonely. just alone." |
[13 Dec 2004|10:38pm] |
i'm tired. exhausted with life. with working 9-10 hr days and being completely and fully in debt, with no hope of coming out. not having any time for myself, except when i lift. i dont even get happy when i do that anymore. and when i have time to spare. i dedicate it to spending it with people, so i dont have to be alone. i just want to hang out and have a good time, maybe laugh for a change. and i can't seem to find anyone that is interested in sharing time with me. i'm used to rejection and how it feels to sit waiting by the phone for it to ring expecting someone to be as excited to see me as i am to see them. and it never happens that someone is eager to be with me. or to enjoy my company. words are meaningless. i've found that no one is real. that no one is committed. and when it boils down to it, the only person that you can trust and count on no matter what is yourself. its all i have right now. these offwhite walls and what is contained within them. i'm tired of wanting anything else. there is nothing else.
im just looking for a light at the end of my tunnel.

This was a different workout then I'm used to..workout number one of scotts power routine. i liked it, except i dont think i got too good of a pump in my pecs...i think i need to go lighter weight on the flyes for better form. it was weird doing the cleans, but i sorta liked them, definately hit my body hard...goin to start goin nuts with this exercise...i liked the bicep routine, everyone was talking to me though so i was gettin distracted. i think i need a headset so people dont talk to me. thats what i need.

a little update... |
[08 Nov 2004|12:19pm] |
i figured i'd update this, with a non workout related topic incase some of you that read this actually care about what is going on in my life. chances are there isn't anyone that does and i'll go back to writting about lifting weights and entering bodybuilding competitions...
school- is going pretty well for me, i've managed to complete a majority of the semester without books and maintain some pretty solid grades. its been interesting to say the least. if it wasn't for my friend kate at school i wouldn't be able to do it. shes in all my classes and helps me by letting me borrow her books as much as possible. other then that i've meet some cool people, a few. not too many hot girls. the people at my school aren't very social, they just care about their homework, no one talks or socializes, never hear about parties.
parties- i dont really care about drinking too much right now. i haven't really found any enjoyment in it lately. really only negative things come from me drinking. it has too much of a negative effect on my body and my lifting, its not really worth it anymore, but i will be 21 in like 40 days so shits gonna get crazy
work- what work? its impossible trying to find a job. nothing i have interviews for seems to fit. i have orientation at Target in south portland on friday, i really dont want to work there. i dont want to have to tell people, 'i work at target'. i always used to have meaningful jobs, and now i'll just be some fuckin goon in a red shirt and khaki pants. i am applying to an inbound call center in hopes that i get the job, really flexible schedule and it starts at 12/hr with commission...they said the average pay/hr is 15.50...what would i do with that money?
girls and love- like i said earlier...there isn't much going on. feeling pretty lonely most of the time. i went out on a date on friday, it went pretty well. hung out again. i guess shes into me, but i know how long that will last...a week or two...i have horrible luck with girls and with relationships. but i'll keep an open mind and maybe something will come of it, maybe something wont...either way i'll be fine...ive managed for this long without someone, i can keep going. im just really disappointed.
extra stuff- adam is probably moving out at the end of november/beginning of december so now we need to find another roommate...let me know if anyone is looking for a place in portland to live...lifting is going really well for me and i think i'm on the right track and have my sights set on the granite state open in october of 2005.

[06 Nov 2004|03:12pm] |
today i met with scott at the Y for an hour or so, that should have been a 70 dollar appointment, but he met with me for free, except in two weekends i have to help him move which sorta sucks, but its still chill either way. we first started talking about my routine and he said it wasn't half bad but he wants to change it up a little more so i start building more mass. mon-chest/bi tue-quad/calves wed-off thurs-back/ham fri-shoulder/bi/tri supersets sat-off sun-off
i'm going to be workign in a 6-8 rep range mostly, and no more pyramid setting. this should be a nice change of pace. we also talked alot about suppliments and anabolics. ive been really playing with the idea of juicing up. but he doesn't think its a good idea right now, instead i think i'm going to try and get my hands on some injectable testosterones and try that for a 10 week cycle. and go from there. he also helped me make up a grocery list that i should be following every week. he said that i should be ready to compete next year in the granite state open, in the novice division. he said that ive gotta get to atleast 215lbs by august, and hopefully i walk on stage at 200lbs, if i do, he said i should be able to walk away with the 1st place trophy. he also said for a small fee, he'd help me with all of my posing and help me to create a routine. he wont really charge me a fee, but i think that i'm forever in his debt. in order for me to do well at any amature shows i've gotta have legs. that is pretty much the one bodypart that separates a champion from someone who is not. legs. huge defined massive quadriceps and hamstrings...ive gotta get them. if i can blow my legs up and work on building up my upper body more, i will walk on the stage in a year and walk away with the 1st place trophy.
